Finally. At long last, the Yale College Council will announce the performance lineup for this year’s Spring Fling at Woad’s tonight. We’ve essentially confirmed Klingande, but things are pretty much up in the air otherwise. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait, YCC.

Pound-for-pound champ. Forbes Magazine’s annual article on the world’s richest people profiled 16 billionaires from Connecticut, including (everyone’s favorite) Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio. With Dalio’s other, very powerful friends, the Nutmeg State boasts the nation’s highest number of billionaires-per-capita, though most of them are Greenwich financiers. Is anyone surprised?

New Whiff, Whim classes named

In the early hours of Monday morning, Yale's two senior a cappella groups — The Whiffenpoofs and Whim 'n' Rhythm — revealed their rosters for the upcoming year. The 28 chosen are listed below, along with the groups they sang with as underclassmen.

He’s got a blank space. We tried to warn you, O Grand Strategists. But despite the News’ best efforts and those of professor Jeremy Friedman last week, one of Yale’s finest neglected to write his or her name on a proposal for a Grand Strategy summer project. Let’s hope the student can bounce back from Friedman’s “sternly” worded email to the class on Friday afternoon. Honestly, this is becoming pathetic.

Week-in-Review | 2.23 – 3.1

A long-awaited open forum between University administrators and the student body continued the running discussion about mental health policy at Yale, the effects of which reached as far as the Senior Class Gift. Elsewhere, however, the community celebrated the appointment of new masters in Silliman and Saybrook though similar announcements for other colleges (and for Spring Fling performers and Class Day speakers) still loom large.

To balance it out. “Speed networking,” however, is just the snobby proverbial older brother of the more fun, more flirty thing known as “speed dating.” Fortunately, some will have the chance to do the latter as well, with the 2017 Class Council’s “P.S. I Crush You” event and Calhoun Screw also taking place this weekend.
