Supermoon 2016. Last night’s moon was allegedly the largest and brightest witnessed in 69 years, orbiting nearly 20,000 miles closer to the Earth than on average. The next supermoon will not occur until 2034.

Take a hike. Yale Friends of Israel and Yale Outdoors host Udi Goren, an Israeli photographer who walked the entirety of the 700-mile Israel trail stretching from the country’s Lebanese border to its southern border with Egypt. The talk is in Slifka Chapel.

This day in Yale history 1968 University President Kingman Brewster, Jr. announces that Yale will allow female students to attend in fall 1969. Brewster proposes that during the first year of coedecation, Yale admits 500 women.
