Landslide. Hillary Clinton LAW ’73 took the South Carolina primary with nearly 74 points on Saturday night. Clinton defeated Sen. Bernie Sanders in large part due to the black vote in the Palmetto State. After she won, South Carolina Rep. James E. Clyburn, a prominent African-American Democrat, congratulated Clinton and said, “We, tonight, have started Hillary Clinton on her way to the White House.”
