Power play. Cities and towns across the southern part of the state, including New Haven, were under severe thunderstorm watch late last night. Nearly 12,000 Connecticut residents lost power during the storm. Weather reports warned Elm City residents winds up to 60 mph. The warning was lifted past 2 a.m. this morning.
