Like Yale, Dartmouth College saw a rise in early applications this year, The Dartmouth reported Monday. Dartmouth posted a 12.5 percent increase in applications for its binding early decision program, with a record total of 1,571 applicants. Dartmouth Dean of Admissions Maria Laskaris said the applicant pool has seen increases across several demographics. “There has been an increase in female applicants, international applicants, in first-generation college students, an increase in students of color that are applying and an increase in geographical diversity among applicants,” she told the newspaper.
