    The story “At debate, candidates’ arguments overlap” misstated the vetting process for questions asked at Thursday’s Ward 1 debate. The questions were not approved by the Ward 1 Democratic Committee as stated in the article, but rather were approved by one member of the Yale College Democrats and one member of the Ward 1 Democratic Committee Endorsement Vote Board.

    The story “Long Wharf postpones move” misstated the title of Joan Channick DRA ’89. She is associate dean, not deputy dean, at the Yale School of Drama.

    A quotation by the publisher of the Yale Herald, Marisol Ryu ’10, in the story “Downturn curtails production of several Yale publications” could have been interpreted as suggesting the Herald has not lost any business due to the economic recession, as a Cross Campus item on Feb. 23 indicated. In fact, Ryu said that the Herald has lost many of its local advertisers as a result of the downturn.

    The story “Eli lobbyists push for local change” misstated the name of the Yale Hunger and Homelessness Action Project, a undergraduate umbrella organization dedicated to fighting homelessness and hunger in the New Haven area.

    The story “YCC report recommends more aid reform” said freshmen on financial aid are expected to contribute at least $1,200 during the academic year, while sophomores, juniors and seniors are asked to contribute at least $2,450. These figures, in fact, apply to expected student contributions from summer work, not from term-time work.

    The story “Dodd yet to declare bid” incorrectly stated that Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz ’83 is a candidate for Connecticut governor. Although she has formed an exploratory committee to assess a potential bid, Bysiewicz has not declared her candidacy. The article also misstated the year — 2004 — in which Sen. Chris Dodd defeated Republican challenger Jack Orchulli.

    Elizabeth Kim GRD ’10, the author of the letter to the editor “Please, Yale, don’t endorse Akon,” was mistakenly identified as an undergraduate. She is, in fact, a graduate student in the computer science department.
