VOLLEYBALL: Yale prepares for key home matches

As the home stretch approaches, the Yale volleyball team has its eyes set on once again claiming the Ivy League title — a trophy it has claimed six times in the past eight years. To do so, the Bulldogs may need to sweep the remainder of its games, including matchups this weekend against two gritty opponents.

FIELD HOCKEY: Bulldogs look to even Ivy record

The Bulldogs (6–8, 2–3 Ivy) and the Lions (7–7, 2–3) share a four-way tie for fourth place in Ivy rankings, as well as a one-win streak. Yale has beaten Columbia seven times in their past 11 encounters — although not since 2013 — with four of those wins coming in overtime.

WOMEN’S SOCCER: Bulldogs face Ivy leader Columbia

On Saturday, the Eli seniors will lace up their boots for the final time at Reese Stadium as the Bulldogs (5–6–3, 1–3–1 Ivy) host the surprising conference leader, Columbia (7–4–4, 4–0–1). A win would be Yale’s second in the conference season, matching its highest win total in league play since 2011.

MEN’S SOCCER: Yale falls to Hartford in double overtime

After drawing even late in Tuesday’s contest, the Yale men’s soccer team conceded a goal in the 118th minute of the game, falling to Hartford in a heartbreaking double-overtime loss. But the team has very little time to lick its wounds, as it takes on Columbia Saturday.

Elis wrap up regular season

The Yale men’s cross country team concluded its regular season with a strong performance at the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet, its last event before Saturday’s Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. The Bulldogs — racing without their top performers, who are resting for Heps — finished third out of 15 teams and had five runners achieve personal bests.

Bulldogs finish on top at CCSU

The Bulldogs came first in both the varsity and junior varsity races by wide margins, outrunning 17 and eight teams, respectively. The team’s score in the varsity race was particularly impressive — the runner up, Boston College, finished with a score of 105, 80 points greater than Yale’s score of only 25. In the junior varsity race, meanwhile, the Elis finished five points ahead of second place New Hampshire, and Jane Miller ’20 finished first in the field of 88 runners with a time of 10:45.5.
