A slate of Ward 22 co-chair candidates was disqualified Monday after failing to submit proper petitions to the New Haven Registrar of Voters.

Eshe Sherley ’16 and Vicky Dancy, a team of contenders for the ward’s two spots on the Democratic Town Committee, left blank the line where the circulator of the petitions is required to sign, the New Haven Independent reported.

The blunder makes their only opponent, Cordelia Thorpe, the de facto winner. It will also leave vacant one co-chair spot, as the deadline for submitting petitions has already passed.

Citywide co-chair elections are scheduled for March 4.
