Macklemore is coming to Spring Fling this year.
The Seattle-based rapper is scheduled to perform at Yale this spring, according to Peter Schwartz, an agent from the Agency Group, the booking company that represents Macklemore. An anonymous source confirmed to the News that this performance will take place at Spring Fling, the annual concert organized by the Yale College Council.
Macklemore released his hit single “Thrift Shop” with Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz on Oct. 8, 2012. The single climbed to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and sold over 2 million copies in total. The song was from the group’s album “The Heist,” which reached the No. 1 position on the U.S. iTunes Albums chart within hours of release.
Macklemore most recently visited New Haven to perform at Toad’s Place this past November.
Spring Fling is scheduled for Monday, April 29, during reading week.
