Get your chicken on. Today is chicken tenders day in the residential college dining halls. Dining halls open for lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Too cool for tenders? Local guest chef Denise Appel of the Chapel Street restaurant Zinc will follow a Silliman Master’s Tea with a meal she designed in tandem with Yale Dining that includes four speciality salads: soba noodle salad with lime peanut sauce, quinoa salad with oil-cured olives, feta, and gold raisins, tomato and corn salad with cannellini beans and basil, and farro salad with roasted butternut squash and spiced pumpkin seeds.

The Little Chocolate Shop? Lights were on and workers were hammering away inside the High Street location of Chocopologie, a new chocolate shop that is slated to open Friday at noon. Christian Wilki, Chocopologie’s manager, said his store will stock an array of chocolate confections, from chocolate-covered raspberries to Nutella brownies to molten chocolate cake. “We’ll just be a little chocolate shop,” Wilki said.

Close call at SOM. A man working on the construction project at the School of Management’s new Whitney Avenue campus ended up in the hospital after a steel brace fell on top of him, the New Haven Independent reported. The accident left the worker with facial cuts and a “fairly significant” ankle injury. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is now conducting an investigation.

Wenzel madness! A Yale College Council contest starting today asks students to photograph themselves doing something zany with a Wenzel sandwich. The zany shots will be added to the YCC Facebook page, and the Eli featured in the photo with the most likes will win one free Wenzel a week for the rest of the academic year.

And that’s a wrap. With Brown University’s Tuesday announcedment that its endowment saw an 18.5 percent return in the fiscal year 2011, all Ivy League schools have now reported their endowment figures. With a 21.9 percent return, Yale tied Princeton for second-best-performing endowment in the Ivies, after Columbia’s 23.6 percent return.

Getting help gets easier. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions launched a financial aid calculator this week that allows students to input family financial information and receive financial aid estimates.
