The once-blank side wall of the Apple store just got some Yale flavor.
What was previously a blank gray wall is now adorned with the 12 residential college shields. The shields are made of solid stainless steel with an acid wash finish, and are arranged in the order that the colleges were created, said Bob Butler of Stamford Signs, Inc., one of the men putting the shields in place.
Workers finished placing the shields around 4:30 p.m. today. Two additional shields will eventually be added to the wall when the University opens two new residential colleges, Butler said.
