Writer Joan Didion and film director Martin Scorsese were among the attendees arriving at the Yale Center for British Art Sunday night to attend the University’s annual honorary degree recipients dinner.

Didion walked into the center accompanied by University President Richard Levin, and Vice President and Secretary Linda Lorimer. Scorsese was spotted earlier today near Jonathan Edwards College receiving a campus tour.

New Haven Police Department officers were patrolling the perimeter as guests arrived.

Honorary degrees will be awarded at tomorrow’s Commencement ceremony.
