Jenna Ciotti ’14, a freshman forward on the Yale women’s hockey team, is this week’s YDN Player of the Week for her heroics during a six-point, five-goal week.
Ciotti’s incredible performances started last Tuesday at Brown, where she scored 61 seconds into the contest, setting the stage for a 4-0 Yale win. Friday night at Union, Ciotti scored three goals as Yale again posted a shutout 5-0. In that game, Ciotti scored twice in the second period and had an assist and another goal in the third period as she became the first Yale women’s hockey player to produce a hat trick since 2007.
Ciotti topped off her week by scoring the game-tying goal a few minutes before the end of the third period at RPI on Saturday as the Bulldogs battled back from a 2-0 deficit to force a 2-2 tie. Ciotti has 11 points in her last 12 games and is third on the team in points with 12.
