Siegel had been battling a brain tumor for the past two years and has lived with his family since he was diagnosed, Holloway wrote. He and Calhoun Dean Leslie Woodard will attend Siegel’s funeral in Baltimore on Sunday.
Siegel’s family has started a foundation in his name “to support people and ideas that help keep Dan’s core values alive,” Holloway wrote. Last May, Siegel and his family participated in “Race for Hope,” a charity run benefiting cancer research, in Washington, D.C.
