The Elis must now be content with a share of the Ivy League title after losing their Sunday playoff match against Penn for a spot in the NCAA tournament.

The Bulldogs lost a tightly contested match 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 17-25, 15-8) against an inspired Quaker team that, earlier in the week, fought through four Princeton match points to defeat the third seed Tigers in five sets for a share of the Ivy League title.

Kendall Polan ’14 and captain Kelly Ozurovich ’11 led a comeback from two sets down, but were unable to maintain the momentum in the deciding set.

The loss was the Elis’ first at home of the season and just their second in two years. Their one home loss in the 2009 season also came at the hands of Penn.
