Linebacker Jesse Reising ’11, who had to be carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Yale’s loss to Harvard on Saturday, was still in the hospital as of 2:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the Patient Information Office at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

A hospital representative said that Reising is “still a patient.”

Reising was knocked unconscious after colliding helmet to helmet with Harvard running back Gino Gordon midway through the fourth quarter of The Game. Both were knocked out, but Gordon walked off the field three minutes later. Medical staff deemed it safest to immobilize Reising, although the senior was was talking and had feeling in all his extremities, head coach Tom Williams said.

UPDATE 3:48 p.m.

Tom Williams told the crowd at the team banquet Saturday night that Reising was kept overnight in the hospital as a precautionary measure, according to the Yale Sports Publicity Office.
