City and state officials on Sunday attended the dedication of the third through eighth grade campus of the Worthington Hooker School on Whitney Avenue. Construction for the school began in the late 1990s, but residents on the nearby Everit Street have fought against the building, complaining that the school would disrupt neighboring homes. Last week, a resident was charged with disorderly conduct after getting into a fight with a parent who dropped off her child at the back entrance to the school, despite the school’s instruction to drop off children at the front entrance, the New Haven Independent reported.
