Professor emeritus of anthropology Harold Conklin GRD ’55 has been rushed to the Yale-New Haven Hospital emergency room after falling and gashing his forehead on Beinecke Plaza at around 1 p.m. today.
Paramedics placed Conklin on a stretcher, and though he initially resisted hospitalization, he eventually agreed to allow medical personnel to transport him to Yale-New Haven Hospital via ambulance. A medical technician on the scene said Conklin would need stitches.
Conklin’s injury comes less than a week after Sterling professor Donald Kagan was hospitalized when he fell down a staircase in Harkness Hall.
