On Friday, Yale officials received permits to demolish the Daniel Cady Eaton House and two other buildings listed on the city’s Historic Resources Inventory. Several local and state preservationists have argued that these buildings, as well as others on the site planned for the two new residential colleges, have historical value to the city and should be saved or moved. According to the demolition permits, Yale officials prepared a demolition plan of the historical buildings last October. The demolition will begin this month.
