Calhoun College students will be allowed to cast ballots in the April 17 Ward 1 Democratic Endorsement Vote, the Ward 1 Democratic Committee confirmed in an e-mail to the undergraduate population Sunday. Though Calhoun students living on campus currently reside in Swing Space — part of Ward 22 — they can vote in the Ward 1 race by submitting a “Calhoun College Voter Intent Form” by April 10, stating that they have secured Ward 1 housing for the 2009-’10 academic year, in addition to submitting a general voter registration card. Ward 1 Democratic Committee co-chairwoman Rhiannon Bronstein ’11 said it came to the attention of the Endorsement Vote Board in late February that Calhoun students would be disenfranchised due to existing ward boundaries, and the committee amended the Election Day rules in early March.
