Late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, the New Haven Police Department arrested seven more prostitutes from the city’s Fair Haven and Dwight/Kensington neighborhoods. This is the fifth in a series of stings that aim to reduce crime by arresting prostitutes and “johns,” or men who want to buy sex services. Last night, undercover officers from the Guns and Firearms unit went undercover posing as “johns” to arrest the prostitutes. After last night’s arrests, a total of 24 prostitutes and 22 johns have been arrested.
