The city is going to ask for $35 million from the state to complete their School Construction Project, the New Haven Register reported Thursday.

School Construction Coordinator Susan Weisselberg confirmed the report, but added that the request is based on a yearly process where the city rebids the projects underway.

“We try to keep things down as we deal with the escalation that we are experiencing,” she said.

Sheridan Communications and Technology and Metropolitan Business Academy are “completely bid out,” Weisselberg said. The Register also reported that money is needed to finish a total of three schools.
