A Brown University sophomore on died Monday in her hometown of Nashville, Tenn., the Brown Daily Herald reported Wednesday.

Mary Interlandi died while on leave from her sophomore year. The cause of death was unknown at the Daily Herald’s latest report.

Interlandi’s death is the second death of a Brown student in less than a week. Sarah Lamendola, a Brown junior, died last Wednesday of acute pulmonary thromboembolus.

Brown Chaplain Janet Cooper Nelson organized a gathering Tuesday night for Interlandi’s friends, classmates, and housemates, the Daily Herald reported.

The Daily Herald reported any memorial service organized by Brown University will occur after the memorial service held by Interlandi’s family in Nashville this Saturday.
