Before students come to Yale, they’re told that New Haven has some of the best pizza in the country and the most diverse ethnic food outside of Manhattan. Now, according to the Wall Street Journal, the Elm City can also boast one of the best college dining halls in the country. So maybe the oft-criticized dining hall plate won’t look so bad anymore, even standing next to the artistic masterpieces served at Zinc.

In keeping with the Journal’s praise of food at Yale, scene offers its first issue dedicated to the subject, from vegan shepherd’s pie to braised pork with cornbread and homemade barbeque sauce and everything in between. And it’s all just in time for Thanksgiving, when — if we ever recover from post-Game-ing hangovers — all our thoughts will turn to food.
