To the Editor:
Ruling disputes have peppered the Olympic games. In pairs figure skating, Canada was awarded a gold medal after a brief but intense judging scandal. In speed skating, there were also disputes about an American false start. Ruling disputes also blemished the short-track preliminaries.
The true Olympic spirit requires the better athlete getting what he or she deserves regardless of where he is competing and who he is competing against.
