Thanks to a compromise between the New England Sports Network and Comcast Cable, Yale students will be able to watch tomorrow’s football contest against Holy Cross on television.
The game will be televised on Yale channel eight beginning at noon and will be broadcast in its entirety.
“The Yale community is the most important community to the Yale football team,” assistant athletics director Steve Conn said. “We are glad we can take care of their viewing interests, and happy that NESN and Comcast were able to come through and help us in this matter.”
The arrangement comes on the heels of Comcast’s failed attempt to broadcast the game throughout New Haven on a public access channel. Athletics department officials then worked with both sides to try to bring the game to students, and details were finalized yesterday.
Both Conn and associate athletics director Wayne Dean said there is a possibility that Yale’s other two confirmed NESN broadcasts — Oct. 20 at Pennsylvania and Oct. 27 at Columbia — could also be made available to students.
