The Elis on Sunday took on Dartmouth for their final home game, falling short 1–0.
At the game, seniors Regan Lundstedt ’26, Belle Golden ’26, Logan Jacobs ’26 and captain Ashley Kirschner ’26 were honored for their time spent with the program.
“Obviously, we wanted to win on senior day for these four who have given so much to us — and a special shout out to Logan Jacobs as she just played her final game as a Bulldog,” head coach Sarah Martinez said in a Yale Athletics news release.
Yale was mainly on the defensive in the first half. The Big Green tallied nine shots compared to Yale’s one; they had 10 corner kicks, while Yale produced none.
Regardless, goalkeeper Kyla Holmes ’27 played lights out during the first half. She tallied five saves, including one coming off a penalty kick in the 28th minute.
In the second half, the Bulldogs played a competitive 45 minutes. They outshot Dartmouth five to three and had five corner kicks compared to the Big Green’s two.
In the 87th minute, a foul committed in the box led to a late Dartmouth penalty kick. Senior Hailey Rorick stepped up to the ball and netted the first and only goal of the game, leading to a 1–0 lead for the Big Green.
“It’s unfortunate to concede so late on a penalty called after the play, especially after Kyla already saved one in the game, but that is the way the game goes sometimes,” Martinez said in the news release. “I thought we were very good and dangerous in the second half but just couldn’t find the net.”
Yale will take on the University of Pennsylvania Saturday on the road to finish out their season.
