Pinkberry coming to New Haven
The popular frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry is coming to New Haven’s Chapel Street — marking one more stop for Yalies craving frozen yogurt during the final weeks of the summer heat.
Pinkberry will be replace the 2,300-square-foot building at 1064 Chapel St. that previously housed Savitt Jewelers, between Starbucks Coffee and the recently-opened Panera Bread. It is expected to open by October 1, according to The New Haven Independent.
Though the California-based dessert stop might ramp up competition for the frozen yogurt marketplace — Flavors and Froyo World are just blocks away — Froyo World manager Thienson Nguyen said he was not worried about the new arrival.
“They’re going to go to whoever has the best service and the best product,” he said.
Pinkberry officials could not be reached for comment.
Pinkberry was founded in 2005 and has almost 250 stores across 27 states and 19 countries. It offers Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt, smoothies and shakes.
