Yale alum and champion runner Kate Grace ’11 won the US Women’s 1-Mile Road Championships held earlier today with an impressive time of 4:43.02, according to a Tuesday release published by American Track & Field.

The 1-Mile Road Championships is the fourth stop on the USA Running Circuit. The Circuit will end this fall with the U.S. National Road Racing Championships.

Grace was not in the lead until the three-quarter mile mark, at which point she and runner Sara Hall broke out ahead of the pack to vie for first place. Grace ultimately put in one final surge to cross the victory line. Hall finished closely behind with a time of 4:43.69.
