A hodge podge of Irene-related news here.

Reporter Zoe Gorman tells us that both Bass Library and the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library have announced on the Yale University Library website that they will be closed tomorrow.

Meanwhile Ava Kofman tells us that four students — boys wearing swimshorts and girls wearing bikinis — played a game of pickup soccer barefoot in the Silliman Courtyard around 9:35 p.m.

Also, our suitemate (full disclosure: Esther’s suitemate), former photo editor for the News Murphy Temple, gathered all the small gnomes scattered around the Davenport courtyard and put them in an entryway so they would not become dangerous projectiles during the storm (see photo above).

Finally, some students received an email from sender “Hurricane Irene” (irene49590@gmail.com) with the subject line “I’m coming.” and no body text.
