Alan Slifka ’51, who founded the Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale in 1995, died Feb. 4, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported Monday.

“Glee” overload. In May, the Yale Glee Club will perform at a benefit concert for anti-bullying charities with the cast of the hit television series “Glee,” in addition to members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus.

Keep ’em honest. Students in Dean Karlan’s “Introductory Microeconomics” class were treated to various flavors of Honest Tea and a lecture from co-founder and chairman of the board of the company — School of Management professor Barry Nalebuff.

Akhil Reed Amar ’80 LAW ’84 wrote a column in the Los Angeles Times Sunday in opposition to the Florida judge who ruled “Obamacare” unconstitutional. Reading the decision after grading papers from his Yale Law School constitutional law class, he concluded: “My students understand the Constitution better than the judge.”

The Student Initiative to Draft Daniels is filming its second ad in New York today, this time featuring ‘Jimmy’ McMillan, the man who made his splash as the “Rent Is Too Damn High” guy in New York’s 2010 gubernatorial race.

She’s still no Ying Yang Twins. Ke$ha will headline Quinnipiac University’s annual “Wake the Giant” concert April 2, the Quinnipiac Chronicle reported.

Ward 1 Alderman Michael Jones ’11 said in an e-mail to the News he would decide whether or not to run for a second term on the Board of Aldermen in early April.

Moving back up. The formerly No. 1 men’s hockey team is climbing back up in the polls. In the USCHO poll, it moved back up to No. 2 from No. 3, and stayed in that position in the USA Today poll.

Find love. The YaleStation Dating survey is online. Questions include, “Which campus publication do you read regularly?”

Rumpus, Yale’s tabloid, is uploading photos of candidates for its yearly list of the “50 Most Beautiful” Yalies to its Facebook page. Students vote by “liking” photos and the ones with the most votes will be included in the issue, according to Rumpus’ Facebook. Yale College Dean Mary Miller had 583 votes as of press time.
