“Mommie Dearest” round two? Yale Law School professor Amy Chua’s “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior” article featured in the Wall Street Journal has generated both controversy and appearances on The Colbert Report. Now, the Hollywood Reporter reported that her book from which the article was excerpted, “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,” may be moving to the big screen.

But it might not just be the Amy Chua story. The article said:

The more gripping perspective would be a fictionalized account based on prevalent parenting themes in the book. But as for more specifics, Bass is keeping mum.

“Not only is there a movie here, I definitely think it’s more than one movie,” said Ron Bass, the co-writer of “The Joy Luck Club,” who expressed interest in creating the “Tiger Mother” film.
