Lieberman ’64 LAW ’67 in 2012? It’s complicated.

Senator Joe Lieberman’s ’64 LAW ‘67 future career is looking a little rocky. As Connecticut was painted blue in a mostly red United States Nov. 2, Lieberman’s political influence diminished, according to a piece by the New Haven Advocate.

The piece explains that while Sen. Lieberman previously held critical senatorial power, he is now expected to be an intermediary between President Barack Obama and the Republicans. If he runs for reelection the Advocate says he has two choices: “switch parties and become a Republican, or go the independent route and hope to win a three-way brawl.”

Lieberman might face stiff competition in 2012 from elected Democrats in Connecticut and popular Tea Party Republicans.
