Out of about 1180 registered voters in Ward 1, 705 cast ballots at Ward 1 when the polls closed at 8 p.m., moderator Michael Hayden said.

Based on a final count, 704 had cast ballots at Ward 1 when the polls closed 8 p.m., moderator Michael Hayden said; the former figure of 705 was based on adding the number of those still in line with votes already made. There are 2198 registered voters in Ward 1.

UPDATE: 10:09 P.M.

While there are 2198 enrolled to vote in Ward 1, many of them are graduated Yale students no longer living in the area, Ward 1 Democratic co-chair Amalia Skilton ’13 said. She estimated that there were as many as 1180 people actively able to vote in Ward 1.
