Christine O’Donnell did not go to Yale

In a campaign ad Christine O’Donnell, the Republican senatorial candidate from Delaware, announces the she “didn’t go to Yale.” She is “you” though. Well, not us.

Her opponent Christopher Coons LAW ’92 DIV ’92 did go to Yale. She uses the fact that Coons went to Yale to help prove her point that he doesn’t understand voters.

O’Donnell has talked, or rather tweeted, about Yale before. She posted on Twitter that Coons wants to bring “Yale values” to the Senate.

And yet she has previously claimed to have been working towards a Master’s at Princeton and to have studied at Oxford. She didn’t go to either of these places, either. It seems like either she desperately longs to have gotten a degree from somewhere other than Fairleigh Dickinson University (which she didn’t even do until 2010) or that Ivy League and elite universities are somehow removed from “real people.” Which is it?

    O’Donnell is not my choice.

But Coons and Yale Divinity are equal in uselessness.

Coons is a Yale man. As Daniel Patrick Moynihan said in response to James Buckley’s referring to him as “Professor” Moynihan in their 1976 Senatorial race, “”Ah, the mudslinging begins,”
