Harvard editorializes about Elevate

The Harvard Crimson has expressed sympathy for the Yale community in light of the police raid at Elevate last weekend.

While somewhat reluctant to render support for their “dear friends at Yale,” the Crimson staff voiced concerns for the students affected by the raid and urged the New Haven Police Department to get its act together. Here’s a selection:

… police should never treat members of a community in the manner they allegedly did; arriving with the degree of weaponry and body armor students report is inappropriate when there is neither probable cause nor threat of violence. In any case, it appears that the police response to the party at Elevate escalated out of control. It’s time that the NHPD brings justice back to New Haven.

So, now we at least know what the Crimson thinks.

YDN is just bitter ’cause the Crimson’s editorial was better. I got no sense of reluctance whatsoever from that article.

Why does the Crimson’s writing quality surpass the YDN’s?
