Yale librarian releases top 10 quotes of 2009

Yale librarian Fred Shapiro released his fourth annual list of the year’s 10 most notable quotations Wednesday.

Topping the list is a remark from a Simpsonville, S.C., town hall meeting about health care reform: “Keep your government hands off my Medicare,” an attendee said of the government-run entitlement program.

Tina Fey took the top spot on the 2008 list from Shapiro, the editor of The Yale Book of Quotations. Fey won out with her rendition of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live: “I can see Russia from my house!” Click here to read more about Shapiro’s 2008 list.
