Students sold neon yellow “Taser Awareness Week” shirts (see Tuesday’s Cross Campus) in Commons this week as yet another response to the New Haven Police Department’s raid of the Morse-Stiles screw at Elevate.

“We were just really kind of pissed off about what happened and we just wanted to do something about it,” said Eric Levine ’13, one of the students selling the t-shirts. “You’ve really got to stand up to things like that.”

Levine said the first order of 50 shirts already sold out, and that 60 more have been ordered. Profits from the shirts, which cost $12 apiece, will go to a currently undetermined group such as Citizens Against Police Brutality or the American Civil Liberties Union, Levine said.
