Briefly: East Haven mayor arrested Friday for misdemeanor

East Haven Mayor April Capone Almon was arrested Friday and charged with interfering with a police officer, a misdemeanor offense. Capone Almon, who is represented by William F. Dow III ’63, is accused of interfering with a police officer as the officer was trying to tow cars illegally parked at the town beach July 19. Capone Almon made news in New Haven in March when, after months of mediation, she and New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. reached an agreement for runway improvements for Tweed New Haven Regional Airport, located near the East Haven border.
