English Professor and Pulitzer Prize nominee J.D. McClatchy GRD ’74 has been appointed president of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Academy announced Jan. 22 and the University announced Thursday. McClatchy has served as editor of the literary magazine Yale Review since 1991 and served as Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 1996 to 2003. Music professor Ezra Laderman, the Academy’s outgoing president, called McClatchy’s appointment “wonderful” and said McClatchy will prove a “terrific president.”
