Free speech, priceless, should have no limits in a free society — consequences aside

To the Editor:

I am willing to pay the price for me to be called a fag, wetback and stupid if it means that the University continues to be a place that teaches the only value worth teaching: that expression is priceless and should be uncontrolled.

You want to resolve this? Use words. Do not silence words. Learn from the history of Europe: Holocaust denial is in the vogue there because the authorities have decided that it must be impermissible.

If the price I have to pay is that I have to hear my peers called sluts then I’m willing to pay it. That’s more important to me than the authorities banning speech.

    How about plagiarism?

Nice thought, Mr. Reyes; too bad Yale is already far from being such a place as you describe.

I admire your Molierian sentiment, though.
