Forward Ryan Hitchcock ’18 has been named as the Yale men’s hockey captain for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Hitchcock has been one of the best passers on the team the past two years, and led the Elis in assists with 16 before suffering a season-ending leg injury against St. Lawrence on Jan. 14. Despite missing the Bulldog’s final 16 games, he still ended the year ranked fourth on the team in points and second in helpers.

Hitchcock was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2014-15, and has notched 49 points in 72 career games. He succeeds forward John Hayden ’17, a fellow alum of the U.S. National Team Development program, as captain.
