No regrets. With basketball season in full swing and Whiffs auditions around the corner, now’s a good time to check in on forward-turned-tenor Brandon Sherrod ’15. And that’s what The New York Times did in a Wednesday piece entitled “At Yale, Trading a Playbook for a Songbook.” Long story short, Sherrod says he’s happy with his choice to pick the songbook.

The next Varga? Numerous high school football players took to social media yesterday to report that they had received a letter of interest from the Yale football team. Coach Tony Reno’s main recruiting pitch is a pretty good one: “We offer one of the finest college educations in the country.” Vikings and Structure of Networks aside, he’s darn right we do.

“Zombies can’t swim.” Speaking of economics, yesterday’s Intro Macro lecture — given by professor Aleh Tsyvinski — included a slide full of survival tips in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Among them: “Go out to sea (zombies can’t swim)” and “Sacrifice Ms. Barbra, the old lady across the street.” Let’s just say Tsyvinski’s style is a bit different from Robert Shiller’s.

Who cares? Kudos to the student section at Saturday’s basketball game against Harvard. At least part of the Cantabs’ shooting woes can be attributed to the mental rattling doled out by the Bulldog faithful — it all started with the classic “we’d rather read the newspaper than listen to your player intros” stunt before tip-off. Guess which paper they were reading?
