Princeton D holding its own

The Yale offense was looking good early but the Tiger defense has stiffened after the quick score. Hart has seen a ton of pressure and the Tigers have gotten to him for a couple sacks. McLeod is still enjoying success but Yale still hasn’t managed to string together a solid drive.

Princeton drive stalls, shanked punt

A promising Princeton drive stalled on the 50-yard line and a rare shanked punt by punter Ryan Coyle has given the Elis the ball on their own 30-yard line. Princeton can’t afford to allow good field position — if the Bulldogs are able to put another touchdown on the board, this game may become out […]

End of first quarter

After 15 minutes of play, Hart’s 5-yard touchdown pass is all the scoring so far. The Bulldogs take a 7-0 lead in the second quarter and the Tigers will look to continue on a potentially good drive. The Tigers will face a 2nd and 12 on their own 41-yard line.

Turnover on downs for Yale

On a fourth and two on the Tiger 26-yard line, the Eli coaching staff decided to go for it and hand the ball off to McLeod for the first down. McLeod never could get his legs under him in the slippery conditions, however, and fell a yard short. The Tiger offense will be back at […]

Yale dominating

The 5-play, 24-yard drive lasted just over two minutes. It looks like the Eli offense is continuing where it left off last week — but this […]

Well, that was easy

On the game’s second play, Tiger quarterback Brian Anderson’s option pitch wasn’t handled by running back Jordan Culbreath and the Elis were able to pounce on the pigskin. This is exactly what the defense needs to do and has done all season — force turnovers and give the Bulldog offense a chance. We’ll see if […]

Conditions’ effect on first play

The slippery conditions were evident right off the bat. On the kickoff return, the Tiger returner slipped and fell on the Princeton 23. The Tigers will not look to get something going on the nation’s top scoring defense.

Yale-Princeton Kickoff

In a rainy, ugly day here in New Haven, the Bulldogs and Tigers are set to battle for the 131st time. After an introduction of all 40 seniors affiliated with the team, the Elis won the coin toss and chose to defer the ball to the second half.

Almost putting the game away

On a 2nd and 10, linebacker Jay Pilkerton had a chance to put the game away after a tipped pass landed in his hand. But the linebacker wasn’t able to hold on — just another chance given to this Bear offense.

Weird sequence

So for some reason, Brown’s kick returners thought there was a need to start throwing around laterals with over 3:30 left on the clock. The Bears threw two — one forward — and both landed on the ground. The forward lateral penalty brought the spot of the ball back inside their own 20.
