Three weeks left of the school year. Wow. I could almost cry! I remember when I was a tiny, oblivious first-semester freshman — a grand five months ago — writing my first WKND piece — shameless plug: Yale Through Fresh Eyes — and thinking life was only going to get better!

Even though I complained a lot this year, I can’t help but already feel nostalgic for my freshman year. Highlights include my friend almost dying from getting crushed by a horse, almost getting kidnapped by a shady-looking man with an alarming amount of female student IDs and getting peed on in [LOCATION]! That being said, there is still much on my Yale bucket list that I unfortunately haven’t achieved yet. I also personally believe this campus and the greater New Haven area hasn’t seen enough of me.

In preparation for celebrating my final CS project, here are some activities I have devised to complete the ultimate Yale bender:

  1. Study at the Yale Law Library. Okay nerd, I know, but with reading week coming up, this is the perfect chance to finally take a peek at what is, apparently, one of Yale’s most beautiful libraries — before it closes at 4 p.m.
  2. East Rock run. In the spirit of the weather getting slightly warmer — post-spring warmth is a scam — a run through East Rock Park seems like the best motivation to continue my marathon training.
  3. VivaZ dinner. A recent New Haven discovery for me — thank you to my big! Actually, I definitely feel like I’ve been inside before to seek the warmth after a night at BDs… freshman canon event? It’s the perfect vibe for a victory dinner with your friends.
  4. Ingalls Rink open skate. Do I know how to ice skate? No. But Ingalls Rink is the perfect place to figure it out! Maybe this will even convert me from a polo girl to a figure skater. Triple axel, here I come.
  5. Thrifting. Did you guys know there’s an entire street filled with thrift pop-ups right behind TD? Why is no one talking about this? Thrift2Death is a community that hosts vintage street markets at 77 Audubon St., usually on weekends. Exact dates can be found on the community’s Instagram. It’s a great opportunity to come home with some new fits. Glow up!
  6. Eat more Slifka cookies. I’m kind of embarrassed to confess that I dream about these cookies when I sleep. Slifka Center, I don’t know WHAT you put in those sugar cookies, but they are the best cookies I have had on this campus.
  7. NYC 24-hour trip. I’m stealing inspiration from some friends who have recently pulled this off and Alix Earle’s 24-hour party in Miami. Since I have already experienced a six-hour NYC trip, I would like to take it up a notch and spend a whole 24 hours without sleep in the Big Apple.
  8. Branford Cheese Board night. I love charcuterie, and charcuterie in the dining hall seems like the closest fine dining experience I can have as a broke college student.
