Yale New Haven Health has been recognized as one of the nation’s top employers, earning a spot on Forbes’ prestigious list of the Top 500 Best Large Employers for 2025. YNHH was ranked 214th, and 57th in healthcare and social services.

The designation, featured in Forbes’ 10th-anniversary edition of its employer rankings, places the Yale New Haven Health System, or YNHH, among the best workplaces in the country. The list is compiled based on survey responses from over 217,000 employees across various industries, evaluating factors such as compensation, career growth opportunities, workplace flexibility and overall job satisfaction.

YNHH’s inclusion in the rankings reflects the health system’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive and rewarding work environment for its employees while maintaining its reputation as a leader in patient care.

“Yale New Haven Health is very proud to join a prestigious group of companies and organizations across the United States on the Forbes list of best large employers,” said Christopher O’Connor, CEO of the healthcare system. “At the center of our success are our dedicated employees, and we strive to create a workplace that values their commitment and supports their professional growth.”

The Forbes recognition comes as the system continues to expand its healthcare services and reinforce its status as a top-tier medical institution. The ranking highlights the organization’s efforts in providing not only exceptional patient care but also meaningful career pathways for healthcare professionals. Employees surveyed by Forbes cited strong workplace benefits, leadership support, and advancement opportunities as key factors in their ranking assessments.

The methodology behind Forbes’ rankings reflects broader trends in workforce expectations. Over the past decade, Forbes has tracked how employees have prioritized professional development, work-life balance and workplace culture in their assessments of employers.

As a major academic medical center, the YNHH system has actively worked to implement policies that align with these evolving workforce needs, including competitive benefits packages, wellness initiatives and career advancement programs.

For the YNHH system, the Forbes recognition underscores its efforts to remain a competitive employer in the healthcare industry. With ongoing challenges in healthcare staffing nationwide, the organization’s commitment to supporting employees and fostering career growth will remain essential to its success.
