The New Haven Police Department discovered the body of a missing person — Emmanuel Ramos, a 37-year-old Hamden resident — near East Rock Park on Friday morning.
The deceased, who was reported missing this Wednesday, was found during a police search near Farnam Drive and has been formally identified as Ramos, according to a press statement released by the NHPD on Friday afternoon. NHPD detective Paul D’Andrea located the body on a 100-foot elevation from the road below.
Prior to his disappearance, Ramos allegedly fled from his father’s car into the woods surrounding the East Rock summit. He had a history of mental illness, the press release read.
The statement said that the death is not suspicious in nature, and that the department does not suspect foul play.
