Emergency funds. The Harvard Undergraduate Council voted Sunday to provide Costco sandwiches to undergraduates later this week in light of the ongoing strike by Harvard’s dining workers. The council has allocated $1,100 to buy the food.

Silicon Haven. Over the weekend, the New Haven Hackathon was held on Union Station’s second-floor balcony as a part of the larger Northeast Hackathon series. The event attracted almost 45 people and focused on tasks like improving local bus routes.

A Spacetime Odyssey. Astrophysicist and Cosmos host Neil deGrasse Tyson will be speaking this evening at 7:30 in the Bushnell Center for Performing Arts in Hartford. Tyson was named Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive by People Magazine in 2000.

THIS DAY IN YALE HISTORY. 1994 The Board of Alders approve a joint proposal by Yale University, Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale-New Haven Medical Center to build a six-story parking garage on the corner of Howard and Congress avenues with 600 spots.
