Ideas worth spreading. This Saturday, TedxYale will host its fifth annual conference in the Levinson Auditorium. Beginning at 10 a.m., the event’s speakers include Harvard psychologist Shelley Carson, digital designer Ryder Carroll and violinist Gaelynn Lea.

Mmm, water. The South Central Regional Water Authority, which currently provides water for 15 cities including New Haven, is asking all clients to reduce their water usage by 10 percent. The shift comes in light of falling reservoir levels due to dry weather.
