The Harvard Corporation agreed Monday to Harvard Law School’s recommendation to remove and replace its seal, which currently features the crest of a slaveholding family. The decision comes around a week after a Law School committee made the recommendation. Like its quick-fire decision to replace its “house master” title from its residential college system, Harvard has again moved ahead of Yale in changing racially fraught names and symbols. Yale’s Corporation has yet to make decisions on the controversial name of Calhoun College or the title of residential college “master.”
